Answer from your textbook, Chapter 11
this is the pdf of the book: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1V5R7EUsTu-XVsdn_I…
- Assignment 6 (Parts A, B, and C)
- Assignment 7 (Parts A and B)
Make sure to label your answer clearly so I can see you are answer each sub-part. Note, the answer to each is not “yes” or “no.” Instead, you are drafting an Issue Statement that answers the question.
To Illustrate: “Whether the will is valid when [law] + [fact].”
Like the short answer, these questions practice your skills writing Issue Statements. Issue Statements are not long. They usually require no more than a sentence or two. Although brief, the issue statement you draft must be on-point. It cannot just restate the question. Instead, you must carefully read the chapter to learn how to draft a concise and specific issue statement. It should accomplish each:
(1) ask a question (using either “can” or “whether”)
(2) briefly trigger the key legal element (by using key words)
(3) briefly tie in the key facts that relate to that specific legal element
Read the question carefully. To earn points, you must extract only those specific facts that address the specific laws involved/being asked. You earn points based on your ability to identify the key issues and disregarding background or insignificant facts.
